Stargaze launchpad
Stargaze launchpad supports primary NFT minting through CosmWasm contracts on Cosmos Hub. Creators can offer copies of one artwork through an Open Edition or randomly assigned pieces from a collection through a Vending Collection.
The Stargaze Studio v0.1.0 creation flow specifies a Keplr wallet with ATOM for artwork storage and mainnet publication. Its testing stage uses free test ATOM on Cosmos Hub testnet.
Choose what collectors receive
Open Edition
Each mint produces a copy of the same artwork. The creator sets the price and minting window, chooses how many NFTs each wallet can mint, and may cap the total supply. An optional whitelist can restrict access.
Vending Collection
Each mint assigns a random piece from the uploaded collection at the price the creator sets. Optional whitelist phases let chosen wallets mint first. This format suits a launch where collectors accept random allocation from a prepared set.
Neither of these Studio formats permits adding new pieces after launch. The Open Edition artwork and the Vending Collection's uploaded set are fixed at launch.
1/1 Collection
Studio also supports individually sold works with later additions. A 1/1 Collection mints pieces to the creator's wallet for marketplace listing, including pieces added later. It has no collector-minting launchpad.
A hypothetical launch with later additions
Assume a hypothetical creator has 36 finished artworks, wants collectors to mint a randomly assigned piece, and also wants to add new pieces to that same collection after launch.
A Vending Collection meets the random-mint requirement, but its fixed inventory excludes the planned additions. A 1/1 Collection permits those additions, but distributes pieces through the creator's marketplace listings. Neither choice meets both requirements together.
For this creator, retaining random launchpad minting means finalizing the set before launch and dropping later additions to that collection. Prioritizing an expandable collection instead points to the 1/1 listing model.
Storage, testing, and publication costs
Studio v0.1.0 separates artwork storage from collection testing and mainnet publication:
- Upload the artwork to Arweave. Studio shows the storage price in ATOM before payment, and storage is paid once.
- Test the collection on Cosmos Hub testnet using free test ATOM.
- Publish the collection on Cosmos Hub mainnet. The launch fee and gas are paid in ATOM, with no second artwork upload or storage charge.
The collector's mint price is separate from the storage and publication costs in this creator flow. Free test ATOM applies to the testnet stage; it does not replace ATOM needed for storage or mainnet publication.
Mint stages and featured placement
Launchpad entries display the collection's stage, mint price, status, and progress. The listings include live, ended, and sold-out launches, so appearing in the launchpad directory does not by itself establish that minting remains open. Whitelist eligibility also depends on the launch's configured access rules.
Open Edition and Vending Collection launches can apply for a launchpad spotlight. Application eligibility does not guarantee featured placement. Studio's 1/1 Collection is outside this featuring route because it has no launchpad.
